Learning to read is not something that happens in exactly the same way for every child. Effective reading instruction draws on decades of research into how children learn to read and the skills that support successful reading.
At Blossom Educational Therapy, our instruction is informed by the Science of Reading and emphasizes explicit, systematic instruction in the skills students need to become strong readers.
This includes building a solid foundation in phonological awareness, phonics, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, language comprehension, and written language.
We meet students where they are, identify the skills that need strengthening, and provide targeted instruction with opportunities for guided practice and meaningful application.

Meet Denielle
Meet Denielle
Passionate about helping students discover that they can learn.
With more than 30 years of experience in education, Denielle has dedicated her career to helping students navigate learning challenges and develop the skills they need to become confident, successful, and independent learners.
Denielle holds a Master's Degree in Education, a Certificate in Educational Therapy, and a Certificate in Executive Function Coaching. She is currently completing the Neuhaus Education Center Dyslexia Specialist Certificate, further developing her expertise in structured literacy and evidence-based reading instruction.
Her dyslexia specialist training includes Concepts in Literacy, a systematic, sequential, and comprehensive structured literacy curriculum grounded in the Orton-Gillingham approach and the Science of Reading. The curriculum develops the essential skills needed for reading and writing, including phonological awareness, decoding, spelling, writing, and comprehension, through explicit and multisensory instruction.
Denielle's approach begins with understanding the whole learner. She considers each student's strengths, challenges, learning profile, and individual needs to develop targeted instruction and strategies that help students make meaningful progress.
She believes that struggling with reading or learning does not mean a student is incapable of learning. With the right instruction, support, and strategies, students can strengthen their skills, build confidence, and become increasingly independent.
Her goal is simple: to help every student recognize their strengths, understand how they learn, and blossom into a confident, capable learner.
